Contesting a litter fine?

Today I very foolishly discarded a cigarette, and was caught by a Council Enforcement Officer. I gave him my details and spelled out my name to him. He gave me a copy of the form and told me I would receive the outcome from the borough solicitor. Upon checking the form I noticed my name has been spelled wrong. Would I be able to contest the fine on this technicality?
