Is my ankle getting better?

so i injured my ankle about a month ago and like the fibula bone would hurt when you press on it and sometimes walking. i foolishly returned to running on 5-6, like a week after it hurt and during the first half and most of the second half, it was fine, but at the end it felt week and then it hurt the day after. now its been like 3 weeks since i ran and it feels better, the fibula bone/hard part does not hurt when you press on it, only the muscle next to the bone feels weak. is it getting better? when will it get better? sorry for the q's, but i really need to know because i have xc and i want to start running as soon as i can because i dont want to fall behind my teammates and peers. i have done only core work and push ups since the injury and some calf raises on my better ankle only.
